The Canon Extender can be used to increase the focal length of your telephoto lens, with minimal loss of lens performance or image quality. Note that using the Extender decreases your aperture by two stops: for example a lens which is f/2.8 becomes f/5.6 when the 2x Extender is used.
Canon Extenders are compatible with the following lenses offered by LensesForHire:
 EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II, EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS, EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L
 EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS
 EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS
 Sigma APO 120-300mm f/2.8 EX
 EF 135mm f/2 L
 EF 200mm f/2.8 L
 EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS, EF 300mm f/4 L IS
 Sigma APO 300-800mm f/5.6 EX
 EF 400mm f/2.8 L IS , EF 400mm f/5.6 L
 EF 500mm f/4 L IS
Note that, when using the 2x Extender, autofocus is only possible on lenses with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 or better (f/4 or better for 1D-series cameras).
This Mk III Extender offers slightly improved optics compared to the Mk II version, leading to better sharpness and contrast. When used with a Mk II IS telephoto lens, it promises faster and more accurate autofocus too.
